Military Research Group exists to provide a focused home for research, writing, curation, preservation, and public discussion across selected areas of military history.
Purpose
MRG researches, documents, interprets, and shares the soldiers, institutions, places, and stories of military history. It is designed as a durable platform for following worthwhile historical questions, publishing useful work, preserving source material, and making serious research accessible beyond academic audiences.
The work should be rigorous enough for researchers and accessible enough for soldiers, veterans, preservationists, local historians, and interested readers.
What “Group” means
Military Research Group is not intended to imply a staff of consultants or a large institution. The “group” is the collection of research interests curated under the MRG banner. Those interests can deepen, shift, or expand as new questions and evidence emerge.

Those three words describe the work behind MRG: investigating sources and evidence, producing original written work, and organizing useful historical material so it can remain discoverable and meaningful.

MRG is independently curated and does not speak for the U.S. Army, Department of Defense, Bell County, Preservation Texas, any publisher, university, historical society, or former employer unless a specific activity states otherwise.
